Founder/Director

I’m John Baikie BA(Hons), ABIPP, ASWPP. My work sits in the space between documentary observation and commercial filmmaking - focused on real people in real environments.

My focus is on people, place and experience - often in outdoor or physically demanding contexts where story comes from what is happening, not what is staged. I’ve worked across sport, environmental, and documentary-led projects over the last two decades.

At Cinematiq, we specialise in creating quality films that elevate public awareness, build your brand, and help you acquire new customers. By leveraging the vast and often overlooked creative talent in the Highlands, we deliver work that rivals any production from larger markets.

When I’m not behind the camera or collaborating with our talented team, you’ll often find me exploring the breathtaking landscapes of the Highlands on my bike or immersing myself in the creative community that makes this region so special.
